Stories from the Circle
Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with people who are generous, thoughtful, and courageous—people who love their family members deeply and are doing their best to support them with care. With this space, I hope to honor what becomes possible when someone dares to ask for support, take a risk, or share their story.
These aren’t just testimonials about my work—they’re reflections of what can unfold when people listen, connect, and keep showing up for themselves and each other.
For now, you’ll find just a few—but more are on the way. May each one offer a window into a real life: a journey of small steps, growing trust, and the power of connection, relationship, and community.
Xanne came in with experience as a facilitator—and still found something uniquely powerful in the Inspiration Hour process.
Xanne’s Story
“Because I facilitate community-building workshops, I trusted in the value of intentional gatherings. This is exactly what happened for me! I accomplished way more in a short time than I could have alone. I no longer feel isolated; I have a clearer vision of how to cultivate a support network for myself and my child. Aysha brings a wealth of experience and ‘sneaky deep tools’ to support parents. Her workshops are not just lectures; they are experiential and communal. We gain wisdom from each other and hold each other accountable. I’m deeply grateful for this journey and the magic that continues to unfold.”
Michele worked for years with me in LifeSPAN and was very familiar with my skills as a facilitator, but came to me at a time of personal transition in her life for one-on-one coaching.
Michele’s Story
“I spent years helping others create networks of support for their loved ones with a disability and explore the concept of personal safety nets. I supported both my mother and my younger sister, who had Down Syndrome and dementia, as they navigated their final years of life. Now in my 70’s, I realized that I myself needed support to think through and talk through the changes happening in my own life.
Aysha was the obvious choice. As a Listening Coach, she offered me not only compassion and non-judgment, but also thoughtful questions that helped me explore deeper places. I felt truly heard—and gently challenged to look more closely at what was emerging in my life.”
Martha joined a facilitated group for parents of adults with disabilities, where she found both practical tools and lasting relationships.
Martha’s Story
“I’m so glad I found and joined one of Aysha’s supportive communities. Like many parents of an adult child with a developmental disability, I’ve often felt scared about what will happen to my son when my husband and I can no longer care for him. Aysha’s group gave me tools to build a vision and a supportive community around him—and introduced me to resources I didn’t even know existed. I’m still in process, but now I know what steps I need to take to ensure a fulfilling future for my son.
Perhaps most important was connecting with other parents who truly understand the challenges of parenting an adult child with a disability. I’m especially grateful for my ongoing connection with Barb—we continue to meet for ‘listening sessions’ where we take turns talking through our parenting journeys. Having that kind of relationship has been helpful beyond measure.”
